What are Swaps?
A swap (also known as a rollover) is the interest earned or paid for holding a forex position overnight. It reflects the interest rate differential between the two currencies in a pair.
Depending on whether you're long or short, and the interest rate difference, you may receive a credit (positive swap) or incur a charge (negative swap).
How does the Forex Swap Calculator work?
Our swap calculator estimates the overnight financing charge (swap/rollover) based on your instrument, account currency, trade size, and the number of nights you hold the position.

Step-by-Step
1. Select the instrument
Choose the forex, index, commodity, or crypto instrument you want to analyse.
2. Enter the account currency
Select the currency of your trading account for accurate conversion.
3. Enter the trade size (lots)
Provide the position size in standard lots to determine pip value and swap impact.
4. Enter the number of nights
Set how many nights you plan to hold the position. Remember triple swap may apply mid‑week.
5. Review Swap Long and Swap Short
Compare potential credits/debits for long vs short positions, then refine your plan.
What is the Swap Rate Formula?
The swap value is calculated by multiplying your position size by the pip value and then by the swap rate, adjusted for the number of nights you hold the position.
Swap Value Formula:
Swap Value = Lot Size × Pip Value × Swap Rate × Number of Nights
